Drought Response Project (WFP)
From January 1 to March 31, 2020, the Services of Women Relieve Center for Afghanistan (SWRCA), in collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP), implemented a large-scale Drought Response Project in Farah Province. The intervention was designed to provide emergency food assistance to families severely affected by drought and facing heightened food insecurity.
Objectives

To address the immediate food needs of drought-affected families.

To ensure vulnerable households had access to essential and nutritious food supplies.

To strengthen family resilience and stability during periods of crisis.
Activities

Beneficiary Targeting: SWRCA identified 10,113 vulnerable families most affected by drought through transparent selection processes.

Food Distribution: A total of 1,820 metric tons of food commodities was distributed, including wheat flour, cooking oil, salt, and split peas.

Ration Allocation: Each family received 179.96 kilograms of food, sufficient to support their basic nutritional requirements for the project duration.

Accountability & Awareness: Families were informed of their entitlements, schedules, and complaint mechanisms to ensure fairness and transparency.

Impact
