Poultry (Chicks Reproduction) Project (UN-CDAP)
In 1998, the Services of Women Relieve Center – Afghanistan (SWRCA), in partnership with the United Nations Community Development Assistance Program (UN/CDAP), implemented the Poultry (Chicks Reproduction) Project in Farah Center and surrounding villages. The project aimed to empower women-headed households by enhancing poultry production, improving nutrition, and generating income.
Objectives

To strengthen the economic independence of women-headed households through poultry farming.

To improve household nutrition and food security via egg and poultry production.

To encourage active participation of women in local markets and community life.
Activities

Skills Training: Trained 30 female-headed households in chick reproduction, feeding, vaccination, and hygiene.

Distribution of Chicks: Each household received 10–20 chicks along with guidance on proper care and management.

Capacity Building: Beneficiaries received ongoing support to improve production, hygiene practices, and market participation.
