SSUP/NDP Project (WFP)
From May 1, 2019, to May 30, 2020, the Services of Women Relieve Center – Afghanistan (SWRCA), in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), implemented the SSUP/NDP Project in Farah Province. The project was designed to provide food and cash assistance to vulnerable families, helping them meet essential needs and reduce the risks associated with food insecurity.
Objectives

To ensure access to essential food supplies for vulnerable households.

To provide financial support to families, enabling them to meet basic needs beyond food.

To strengthen household resilience and well-being during periods of hardship.
Activities

Food Distribution: A total of 72.6 metric tons of foodstuffs were distributed among beneficiaries. Each of the 363 families received 121 kilograms of food, covering their needs for a three-month period.

Cash Assistance: Alongside food support, SWRCA distributed 6,534,000 Afghanis, with each family receiving 6,000 AFN to help them meet additional needs such as shelter, fuel, and healthcare.

Accountability & Support: Families were informed about their entitlements, distribution schedules, and available complaint mechanisms to ensure transparency.
Achievements

363 vulnerable families received comprehensive support through both food and cash assistance.

Families were able to meet their nutritional requirements while also addressing other urgent household needs.

Reduced the risk of malnutrition, improved family stability, and strengthened community trust in humanitarian assistance.
Impact
The SSUP/NDP Project significantly improved the living conditions of drought- and conflict-affected families by ensuring they had reliable access to food and essential resources. The combination of food and cash assistance not only addressed immediate needs but also enhanced household resilience, dignity, and overall well-being.
Through this project, SWRCA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities with effective, timely, and accountable humanitarian interventions in Afghanistan.
