Agriculture, Livestock & Food Security

Food insecurity remains one of the most pressing challenges in Afghanistan. The Service Women Relieve Center for Afghanistan (SWRCA) works to strengthen agricultural productivity and resilience by promoting innovative, climate-smart practices that ensure communities have reliable access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food.

Key initiatives include:

  • Training Farmers on Modern, Sustainable Techniques: SWRCA equips farmers with knowledge of climate-smart agriculture, improved crop management, and sustainable farming practices to increase productivity while protecting natural resources.

  • Provision of Agricultural Inputs: We supply essential resources such as quality seeds, farming tools, and fertilizers to enable farmers to cultivate their land effectively and sustainably.

  • Livestock Management Support: SWRCA provides veterinary services, animal feed programs, and training to help communities maintain healthy livestock, which is critical for both nutrition and income generation.

  • Improving Storage and Market Access: By establishing storage facilities and strengthening market linkages, SWRCA helps reduce post-harvest losses and ensures farmers can sell their produce at fair prices, improving household incomes.

Through these initiatives, SWRCA aims to reduce hunger, improve nutrition, and build resilient agricultural systems that enable families and communities to thrive throughout the year.
