Community Resilience & Social Cohesion

Building peace and resilience is at the heart of the Service Women Relieve Center for Afghanistan’s (SWRCA) mission. We work to nurture inclusive, empowered communities that can effectively withstand challenges, manage conflicts, and collaborate for sustainable development.

Key peacebuilding and resilience initiatives include:

• Supporting Local Peace Committees and Dialogue Platforms: SWRCA facilitates community-based forums where local leaders and residents can engage in constructive dialogue, address grievances, and collaboratively resolve conflicts.

• Promoting Youth and Women’s Participation: We actively engage women and young people in peacebuilding processes, recognizing their critical role in fostering social cohesion, innovation, and inclusive decision-making.

• Strengthening Traditional and Community-Based Conflict Resolution Mechanisms: SWRCA integrates and strengthens culturally relevant practices alongside formal structures to ensure accessible, effective, and locally accepted conflict resolution.

• Encouraging Volunteerism and Collective Action: By promoting civic engagement, volunteerism, and collaborative development initiatives, SWRCA empowers communities to take ownership of their growth and resilience.
